Time For an Update on Ginger

It has been forever since I did an update or an about Ginger post.

Hi, My name is Ginger and what do I want you to know about me?

Well, I am shy, but at the same time, I am very outgoing. I guess it would depend on the situation or the person.

I live near Nashville, TN. yea yea home of Country Music. Also, home of some kick’n Bluegrass Music and ME!

I have 4 children. An almost 18-year-old, as she reminds me, 8 days away and that would be Casey.Casey also has an almost 8 month daughter, her name is Jacklynn, or Joonbug, or as I call her Jacks. She is such a cutie. Cody is 16 and he is also my autistic son. He also loves to talk about cars, welding and building or tearing apart something.. He is also a talker in his sleep and a lover of collecting junk. Adam, he is 12 and well, he keeps my couch warm by watching tv or playing video games. He is also quite the charmer and almost always gets his way because he has those eyes.  Then last but lord willing not least, there is Jonah. my 10-year-old who loves to tell others about Jesus Christ. He also like Pokémon cards and will sit in his room just playing with them and creating different scenario’s with them, or he tries to con someone into playing with him.

Then there is my husband Jamie. He does some kind of job in a factory in KY. He loves what he does. He is an introvert, but if you can catch him talking, he likes to talk about cars, or gaming. We have been married for almost 12 years now. To think, when we got together, he was told to stay far away from me. And here we are, stuck like glue.

We also have 2 small dogs, Suzi the red-haired toy poodle that is 7 and Sam, Sam is well Sam. He is a Bicha-poo. He is also Suzi’s son and is 6 years old. He is quite the dog. Suzi is the lover of socks, and Sam is, well, just Sam. Hard to describe him.

Then there is me. I love to photograph people and landscapes and I generally have the camera in front of my face taking a picture of something.  I am a Macbook Pro enthusiast snob. I am also a Canon lover snob. I shoot with a Canon 40d and love it. Right now, I only have a 50mm 1.8 by Canon. I used to shoot with a Canon XSi and had a few lenses and a speedlight, but we fell on hard times and I had to sell it. But, times are good now for us. God has been good to us. I plan to buy a Canon 85mm 1.8 here in a few short weeks  and possibly a Tamron 24-70mm 2.8. Or, a Canon Speedlight and a camera bag. Not sure. But most definitely an 85mm 1.8, or the 24-70mm…. I gotta figure out which one I want more.

I also love blogging, I used to blog a lot more, but had some issues and then became almost non-existent in the blogging world. But, lucky for you, I am trying to get back into the blogging world. To be honest, I miss writing. I miss sharing my thoughts and opinions. I miss a lot of things. So, I hope to be able to post more about the things I care about, post more about the things I have a passionate opinion about, even if it is not a common belief among my peers.  I will be sharing about my life, my photo’s, and whatever else comes to my mind. So buckle your seat belt and hang on for the ride.

There are days where I just do not want to get up out of bed.
There are days that I want to keep the blanket over my head and my door locked from the outside world.
Yet, each day, the Lord gives me a new sense of of something. He gives me what I need each and everyday.

I have begun to read in earnest my bible.  I am reading it through the year and so far I have done pretty good. By the time the end of the year rolls around, I will have read the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice. Sounds pretty good I think.

Since before Thanksgiving, this family has been battling a sickness. I have no idea what it is. But we just can not get better for more than a few days at a time. Colds, sniffly noses, fevers, chills. This week, it is baby Jacks and I.
Last week it was my awesome husband.

Lots of stuff going on, little time to do it all.
I missed the baseball sign ups for Adam, again. So he might just have to do soccer with Jonah.

Well, my thoughts keep flying from one end of the spectrum to the other, so I will close. Maybe I will post something good later. Who knows.
I still need to do a Pinterest thing this week.

And blog about it.

I have not been as active as I want to be on this thing. I love blogging and I love reading blogs. Finding time to do both is hard.

I also get all kinds of great blog posts in my head, and when when I make time for them, they tend to no longer be there.

I just wanted to share a couple of photo’s. These were taken at the end of January. Up first is my son Adam’s Baptism and Cody’s Baptism.

They both have accepted Christ recently. They had done it before, but Cody came up to Pastor one evening afternoon and told him that he believed that he was not saved. Adam after a service one evening, came to me and had tears in his eyes, he also knew he was headed for hell. I am so glad both of them got saved!

On Jan 28, 2011 I went to a luncheon with Nancy Campbell from Above Rubies. It was such a blessing to go and hear her speak! It was such an encouragement for me. I took a couple of photo’s.

Wowsers I have a large head!

Nancy was so beautiful. She is also so tall. So much more different than what I imagined her to be. I imagined a short women!

Nancy also brought along her granddaughter Meadow to sing for us. Meadow has such a beautiful voice!

That is it from this dreary rain-soaked land of TN. Praising the Lord for it though!

Old Photo’s

Sometimes, you go through your images and nothing just pops out.

Or, other items pop out.

But, one night, while waiting for your spouse to return from work, you find one that just goes

And all is right with my world.

Especially since I have not been doing a lot of shooting.

Almost none.

So I play….

And play some more…..

Till my eyes glaze over….

Or 2am

which ever comes first….

First Day of School….

Well, I totally did not wake up in time for my older 2 children to snap a shot of them going to school.

But, I did get one shot in today. One of Adam, whom I homeschool now.

!st Day of School

I did not get a good one of Jonah since my table was full of things that did not belong on it.

I am so glad, that I can teach my children. I work, but, my children will always come first.  Amen!

Deuteronomy 6:7   And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
