Women Working

You, the 3 folks that read my blog know that I work outside of my home.

I work a 40, sometimes more then 40 hours a week.

Do I think a woman should work, especially a mom?

I know, I know.. I work. So why would I say that I do not believe a woman should work.

Well, the answer is not that easy.

I do believe that there are circumstances that can not be avoided.

Single mama’s, widowed mama’s certainly fall under the special situations.

I know, I KNOW, I am not either one of those things.

I am a married mama to 4.

I work, because my husband needs my help in order to support our family.

Let’s have a look at the Proverbs 31 wife ok.

Proverbs 31:10   Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Proverbs 31:11   The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

I have my husbands heart, I help my husband in anyway I can, I do my best to make his life easier.

Proverbs 31:12   She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Like I said, I do all that I can to make his life easier. While he is in school, I am working to support our family.

Proverbs 31:13   She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

I feel like that my job is like the wool and flax. I work hard to care for my family.

Proverbs 31:14   She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

I do travel to get my groceries:)

Proverbs 31:15   She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

I work very different shifts, sometimes during the day, sometimes at night…

Proverbs 31:16   She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

I sorta do have a small veggie garden 🙂

Proverbs 31:17   She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Proverbs 31:18   She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

I am available to my husband day or night to help him in whatever is needed.

Proverbs 31:19   She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Proverbs 31:20   She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

Proverbs 31:21   She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Proverbs 31:22   She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Proverbs 31:23   Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Proverbs 31:24   She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Proverbs 31:25   Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Proverbs 31:26   She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Proverbs 31:27   She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

I struggle here, I am lazy by default. I rather watch a movie, get on Facebook, or better yet, talk and play with my children then clean my home. So, I need to work in this area.

Proverbs 31:28   Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

I hope some day he and my children will have a reason to call me blessed. I am not there at the moment. I kinda stink.

Proverbs 31:29   Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Proverbs 31:30   Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman thatfeareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:31   Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Someday, I hope and pray that I will be praised.  I do not look for praise, nor do I work to earn praise. I just pray and hope that my family will be happy and that everything I have ever done for them, they will see the love in it.

I have no clue if this made any sense to you. Since I began writing this, circumstances have changed. I think I am done at my work. I have not quit, but they took me off the schedule. So, I sit idle by trying to find out what in the world is going on. I know I have let my husband and family down. Unless I can figure out something soon, my family will not have lights or water. Even our phones will be off. So, if you read it this far, please pray that I can make it all better.

  1. In all the years I have known you, you have done what has been needed for your family. In hard times, you have a knack of bringing your family through it. I pray you will find easier time and also for you to see your own self-worth.

    • thanks Debi, I need those prayers. God has brought us through some amazing times. I know He again will bring us through, I just feel like dung at the moment. I feel like I am letting everyone down.

  2. (((Ginger))) Romans 8:28. I can’t believe that this hiatus with your work is anything but what is best for you and your family, G. Will keep praying for all of you.

  3. Oh, G, I will be praying for you and your family 🙂 I know that you have done all that you can to help your family, and you have been put in a tough spot now. But remember that He will provide for you and yours!
