Best Friends

Have you ever had that one bestie?

The one you could call, night or day?

It did not matter if it was the call was about something wrong, or something good.

Ladies, I am not talking about husbands here. They should be your best friend.

I am talking about the girl friends.

I have one, though we are both so darn busy these days, we go weeks without talking.

I actually have 2 or maybe 3. Though, I could not call in the middle of the night.

I am glad I have a friend named Jesus.

I can call on him day or night.

His word is always available to me.

His ear is always listening to hear what I have to say. He is quick to love me and he is quick to discipline me when I need it.

Let me tell you, I need it often!

What a Friend We Have in Jesus!

1. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In his arms he’ll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there.
